1- Adaptability
It doesn’t matter what type of work you perform, what hours you work, or what type of people you work with. You should have the skills to adapt to your environment and perform your job to its highest potential. That’s not to say, “lower yourself to your environment” or “perform like Sue/Joe”, but rather: create a comfortable space within your organization by balancing tasks, completing duties entirely, and working well with others. Love your job, love what you do, and be grateful for having a career. Everything else will fall in place and your job will be made easy.

2-Professional Development
When you secure a career or a temporary job, continue to grow professionally. The first thing that comes to mind is attending school. The truth is, school isn’t for everyone. Seek alternatives for professional grow: certifications, company courses/training, recommendation letters from superiors, or simply read a book about your industry and learn to master your craft. There are several methods to growing professionally. Find out what works for you and use it to your benefit.

3-Be Discipline
Any employer will agree that a disciplined employee is hard to find. Being discipline includes: on time, not being told what to do (when you are trained and your tasks are clear), completing projects within schedule/budget, performing tasks completely, and helping those to your left, right, above, and below you. Once you are trained and competent in your job field, you know what the expectations are and how to complete them. In due time, you will begin to discover what is expected of your peers and subordinates. Be discipline and do what has to be done without being told.

Developing these 3 Factors to Career success will make you an attractive candidate to any employer. During the job search life cycle, from resume submission to the interview process, employers are looking for these traits. Just a thought!
